On a hot sommer night, in the South of France, perhaps would you see strange little creatures... Inspired from the view I have from my windows every night.

All the flowers are painted and not stuck : it took me about 40 hours to finish this painting. Acrylics on canvas, but the fireflies were added in Photoshop.

I thought this was water color? But I don’t know how you made this look so wonderful with acrylics! I don’t know but you are a wonderful artist and your art is nothing like anything I have seen before!

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Wow. It was not very hard to do, technically. But it took a long long time to do 2 Thank you for your lovely comment. 1"

Wow, this is really unique and colourful, Anne. The flowers are painted beautifully. They look very realistic which contrasts with the more simplistic castle and figures in a really interesting way.

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you, Donna. This style of painting is quite old, done when I was inemployed: I don’t have time enough now to do such paintings. 8"

The fireflies have little noses! 11
The whole picture is bright, but the buildings in the middle look like they’re glowing a little bit, I like the effect.

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "I was inspired by a photo, at night with floodlight lighting the building, which really gave this effect 12 Thank you, John. 1"

What I love most about your floral paintings is that it instantly brings me back to my childhood, like I am looking out of the window at night at the magic of fireflys, as I did when I was a wee one. I used to think that they were fairies and I sometimes still do. 1

:-) Anne Wipf replies: "Thank you so much, Barbara. All your words are candies for me 1"
